One-paragraph description
ScheduleLock is a free alarm app for K–12 teachers on rotating block schedules. Teachers tell it their school's rotation — A/B, odd/even, or any 2–8 day cycle — and their term dates, and the app works out the rest of the year: alarms fire only on school days, match the day's rotation, and a snow day is a one-tap override that resets itself by morning. ScheduleLock has no ads, no accounts, no subscriptions, and no tracking of any kind — it runs fully offline. It's available on the App Store and Google Play.
The story
Developer Hunter Davis built ScheduleLock as a gift for his closest friend, a teacher on a rotating block schedule. Because no alarm app understood her school's rotation, she flipped alarms on and off by hand every day — and kept separate notes just to track which ones (a student's daily nurse visit, a club that only meets on certain days). He spent six months building the app with her and released it on both app stores in June 2026 — free for every teacher, with a public commitment that it stays free and never collects data. Boilerplate facts for fact-checking
- There are roughly 3.7 million public school teachers in the U.S.; rotating block schedules are common in secondary schools.
- ScheduleLock's alarms are built on the platform alarm scheduler (not background timers), so they survive reboots and Do Not Disturb.
- The app makes no network requests — there is no server.
